This week's letter comes from Tania Enoch who relays a well-earned thank you to a nameless stranger who may have saved her son's life. Thanks to Tania for the letter and thanks to the mystery man who, in a world of watchers, chose to stop and do something when it mattered.

Tania we've got a pound of Strictly Organic coffee for your winning letter, which you can scoop at our offices, 704 NW Georgia. We'll let Karma take care of the Good Samaritan.

My husband and I were driving home from the library last Friday with our two little boys when we decided to stop at a business on Franklin Street that we had never seen before. While we were looking around the employees propped open the door, no doubt because of the beautiful weather that day.

Our youngest son is 18 months old - as fast as can be - and suddenly he was gone. My husband yelled his name and I turned to the door a couple feet away and saw my baby running across two lanes of rush hour traffic. It took only a second for him to make it to the turn lane of Franklin St. I ran out in traffic blindly following him and saw a man with dark hair and a grey shirt who had stopped his car in the middle of traffic trying to corral my son. He looked panicked. This action distracted my son and kept him from trying to go any further and slowed the busy traffic in the process.

As I swept my son away I think I might have gotten a "thank you" out but it pales in comparison to what I meant. The horror and shock I felt at that moment is equal to the gratitude I feel today. I believe that anyone in the same situation would have tried to do what you did, but this deed was yours and your response meant the world. My son's name is Jude, he loves bubble baths, kitty-cats and peaches and you saved his life. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.

Tavia Enoch
