The Big 92/9 Show Features...Everclear

Everclear comes to Bend, plays the Century Center July 22.

Last night, we tried to stir up your curiosity with this poll that allowed you to choose which band you thought would be coming for 92/9's highly touted concert announcement. A few of those bands (OK, most of them) were longshot unrealistic wishes, but there were a few actual possibilities in there, like Cake and The Avett Brothers.

Most respondents chose Pearl Jam in an act of wishful thinking, but the radio station announced this morning that the band the radio station is bringing to Bend on July 22 is...Everclear.

A bit of a disappointment, I suppose, (it didn't help that I helped fuel the fires of hype on this announcement) but there will likely be be some folks excited to see the mid-90s Portland-based alt rock band that is now basically a solo project for Art Alexakis (hit that link, it's a great interview). The original lineup disbanded in 2003 and the band realigned again in 2009 and has been playing sporadic live shows since, releasing a disc of re-recorded hit songs a couple years ago, too.

The show in Bend is, again, slated for July 22 at the Century Center. We'll keep you posted on ticket information.
