It must be nice to be an Andre Nickatina fan in this town - and there are plenty of them. These rap-hungry folks get a nice helping of gansta-bred hip-hop from the Bay Area rapper about every, let's see...nine months or so. And they don't seem to be complaining about this frequency.

Yes, Andre Nickatina is coming back to the Domino Room this weekend and should be accompanied by the devoted fan base that has in the past joined him in large numbers for a night of hand-waving, head-bobbing, pimp-referencing gangsta rap indulgence.

Nickatina falls somewhere between the classifications of cult legend and regional superstar in the hip-hop encyclopedia after two decades in the game and is currently celebrating the release of Khanthology 2: The Cocaine Raps 1992-2008. The record is a collection of the fan favorites Nickatina has laid down over the years and also includes a live concert DVD featuring Nickatina playing in Santa Cruz. And damn, these kids seen on the disc love them some Nickatina - singing along to damn near every song, some of which might very well predate the largely young fan base, and taking in every ounce of Nickatina's street-pimp-meets-urban-poet persona that emanates from the speakers. And yup, that's pretty much how it is here in Bend, too.

Andre Nickatina, Dredge Darkness. Mac Matt & Top Shelf
8pm doors, 8:30pm show. Saturday, March 28. Domino Room, 51 NW Greenwood Ave. $23/advance, $27/day of show. All Ages.
