Any time a new Michel Gondry film comes out, I think there should be a national day of rest so everyone can go see it at their earliest convenience. I know The Green Hornet wasn't spectacular and that Be Kind Rewind was lightweight, but with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dave Chappelle's Block Party, The Science of Sleep and the criminally underrated Human Nature, (plus some of the finest music videos ever made like Foo Fighter's Everlong and Let Forever Be by The Chemical Brothers) he's crafted some of the finest films of my lifetime. It look's like Gondry's going back to more character driven pieces that defined the earlier part of his career and, even though it sort of looks like Breakfast Club on a bus, I can't wait to see it.
