COMMUNITY THEATER
Based on the true story of four women in the 1920s, These Shining Lives (written by Melanie Marnich) follows Catherine Donohue and her coworkers in a watch factory, as they paint the hour markings onto different sized watch dials using a glow-in-the-dark radium compound. The play focuses on the danger women in the workforce faced in the 1920s, and exposes the lack of concern many companies had (have) for the well-being and safety of their employees.
