To Defend A Forest, Go See What's There!

Forest defenders across the Pacific Northwest use the tactic of field surveying (also known as field checking or groundtruthing) to collect on the ground observations that can help challenge destructive logging proposals in forested watersheds. Panelists from Oregon and Washington forest defense campaigns will discuss how visiting threatened forests can bolster our legal cases, spark community engagement and lead to site-specific findings that can help us win. This panel will feature tales from the field and lessons learned from efforts to protect forests by first going out and seeing what's there.
