True Value

Politicians allocate resources to where they perceive worth in order to acquire and hold power for themselves, by buying votes from the greedy, the uneducated and the deluded.

A nation directs its resources toward what it truly values rather than what it says it values.

The U.S. is the wealthiest nation in world history. Though only 5 percent of the world's population resides in the US, in 2009, the U.S. military budget was almost as much as the military budgets of the rest of the world combined. The U.S. has over 300 military bases here and all over the world - there's a list on Wikipedia: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_military_bases).

U.S. schools are so deprived of funds that they are shedding teachers and opening only four days per week instead of five. Supplementary educational programs are being cut.

Could Americans please stop saying they value education when what they really value is war?
