The first Valentine's Day card was sent in 1445 from France's Duke of Oreans to his wife when he was a prisoner in the Tower of London.

There are about 8 billion candy hearts made
each year.

Nearly ten new candy heart saying are introduced each year. Recent additions have included "Yeah Right," "Puppy Love," and "Call Home."
