Video From Last Night's WinterFringe: Larry and His Flask and Mosley Wotta

Larry and His Flask, Mosley Wotta kick off Bend WinterFest in style.

A few hundred of us got an early jump on WinterFest at last night's WinterFringe event, which began downtown before teleporting to the Century Center.

Downtown, there were brief sets from Mosley Wotta, who delivered a solo spoken-word set, and Larry and His Flask, who did a totally un-amplified run through of half a dozen or so songs.

But over at the Century Center an hour or so later, more than 600 revelers filled the ballroom for a dual-headlined show featuring both MoWo and LAHF. And here's the thing that I realized last night: these two bands have become ridiculously tight over the past year.

Mosley Wotta's set was high-energy as usual, but featured a crispness I don't remember hearing from the live hip-hop act. Then, Larry and His Flask hit the stage and showed why they got an invitation to play the entirety of the Van's Warped Tour. LAHF has always been more fun than a bucket full of ninja stars to see  in concert, but they've fine tuned their show, and essentially every tune they played from their forthcoming record (due out this summer) was excellent. Really, really excellent. And their cover of Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On" was downright awesome. Check it out right here.
