What In The World? 

Support survivors in the Philippines: After one of the worst storms this century - a typhoon that has killed nearly 10,000 people - MercyCorps has been deploying resources to the worst hit sites. Start the week out with a contribution to help out. Mercy Corps in headquartered in Portland, and considered one of the most efficient relief agencies in the world.

Oregon middle school football team gets its trip to Hooters: After a week of national attention, the Corbett MIddle School football team celebrated the end of its season with a trip to the tight-shirted Hooters restaurant. What started as a bad idea turned into a national news story when volunteer coach Randy Burbach thought it was a good idea to take his pre-teen to Hooters for a celebration. Only one parent actually complained (while another said she say nothing wrong with her son getting to "see a little skin"); even so, the school decided to fire the volunteer coach when he refused to back down from his decision. On Saturday, 23 team members went to Hooters where the waitress lined up to cheer on the boys, and the restaurant donated proceeds from the evening to the school.

Timbers lose: The Portland Timbers lost 4-2 in the first of two Western Conference playoff games. The second game won't be until November 24.
