BendFilm Festival
MOVIES—With documentaries, comedies, and narratives about daring skateboarders, blind runners, and naughty (but hilarious) fourth graders, the BendFilm Festival kicks off tonight with four screens showing blocks of films. Worth
SOUL—Recently featured on OPB, Christopher Worth and his band of bohemian musicians play a fusion of soul, blues, and funk-pop. Worth's abundant vocal runs don't feel oversung, and his catchy, formerly acoustic songwriting is enhanced by a plugged-in band and the sprawling backup vocals of Aliina Champion. Cascade School of Music Fundraiser
MUSIC&BEER—Roaring fires, delicious beer, art, and music are the ideal elements for a successful Bend fundraiser. Local rockers Wilderness open for Portland folk band The Cabin Project and Crux provides the libations. All beer sales benefit the Scholarship Fund at Cascade School of Music. 7 pm. Skyliners Winter Sports Swap
CHEAP GEAR—Community ski swaps are great because you can find everything from funky old one-pieces to nearly new snowboards and skis. Gear check-in for those selling used equipment is from noon to 6 pm Thursday and 9 am to 5 pm Friday. The swap is from 8 am to 5 pm Saturday. BEER—Fresh hop season—that magical time when beers are made with freshly harvested hops grown just on the other side of the mountains—is one of the best beer seasons of the year. Keegan Smith and Tyrone Hendrix
MUSIC—Portland's Keegan Smith sings danceable, reggae-tinged pop tracks, but Tyrone Hendrix's beats are the real treat here. Hendrix has played drums for everyone from Stevie Wonder to Prince and currently works with singer-songwriter Tony Furtado and Portland's DooDoo Funk All-Stars. Put on the big glasses and silly hat—Hendrix's masterful drumming can turn any show into a funk party. 10 pm. Dojo, 852 NW Brooks St. Free.

Same Sex Mary
MUSIC—If you want to find a band you will be able to say, "I knew them when..." about, Same Sex Mary is a solid bet. With bouncy riffs, forlorn spaghetti Western twang, an occasional Iron Butterfly psychedelic piano riff, and honey-dewed harmonized vocals, Same Sex Mary has jumped onto the travel circuit fully confident and seemingly fully formed. 9:30 pm, The Astro Lounge, 939 NW Bond St. $3.

"Walking Dead" Season Premiere
TV—Over the past few months, Volcanic Theatre Pub has transformed into Bend's comfy living room, bringing in sports aficionados for Oregon Ducks football games and packing the house with glued-to-their-sofa-seats fans for the finale of "Breaking Bad." Ramblin' Jack Elliott
MUSIC—Even at 82, Ramblin' Jack Elliott's voice—the same one that influenced the likes of Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger—is as clear and strong as ever. The Grammy-winning cowboy musician-poet still keeps a busy a tour schedule, too. He recently played with Beck and Pete Seeger and shows no signs of slowing. Armchair Storytelling
STORIES—Voyeurism is always interesting, hence the success of Bend's Moth-style Armchair Storytelling events. The popular series will ask eight speakers to take the stage and tell a story in under ten minutes without props, cues, or rehearsals. This round's theme is "unsung heroes."
