ESO continues its onslaught of the Silver Moon with this second installment of the month-long residency at the Silver Moon. Saturday Nite Jokers & Jams

saturday 15

New to the Bend Performing Arts Center is this weekly comedy showcase featuring a celebrity emcee/host, a handful of local comics, skit comedy and special musical guests. Is it just us, or is this town suddenly getting way into comedy? That's a good thing, and we're not going to complain. $5. 8pm. Bend Performing Arts Center, 1155 SW Division St.

The Richard Marshall
Cancer Benefit

saturday 15

Most folks have come to know and love Redmond-based band Larry and His Flask over the years and if you're one of those folks, you may have run into one of the band's biggest fans, Rich Marshall, the father of LAHF's Jamin and Jesse Marshall. Rich, an airplane mechanic, is currently undergoing treatment for pancreatic and liver cancer, and this event is a fundraiser to help with his treatment fund. The lineup includes plenty of local and regional acts, including Robert Dalton, Bethany Taylor, The Dela Project and, of course, Larry and His Flask. $15 includes chili dinner. 5pm. Silver Moon Brewing Co., 24 NW Greenwood Ave.

Beer Olympics

saturday 15

This is not an Olympic year, which is too bad, but that doesn't mean that we can't have an Olympics of beer, and that is what's going down at Old Mill Brew Werks on Saturday when Bend faces Portland in a battle of the brews. For a mere $15, you get 20 samples of beers from the following breweries. Laurelwood, Bridgeport, 10 Barrel, Silver Moon, Cascade Lakes, Hopworks, Three Creeks. $15. 2pm. Old Mill Brew Werks, 384 SW Upper Terrace Dr.

Open Mic in Honor
of the Life of MLK Jr.

sunday 16

As you may have noticed from the cover of this week's issue, Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Over at Common Table, there's a gathering to celebrate the life and vision of MLK complete with an open mic where guests can share their take on diversity. And there's free food! For early sign up and questions contact [email protected] or 541-322-7542. 5:30pm. Common Table, 150 NW Oregon Ave.

Concave Perception Chamber

monday 17

We haven't heard much from this band in the past year, but we're pretty damn excited that Concave Perception Chamber is playing a show. The band's wacky take on prog-rock is one of the most out-there sounds in Bend, making for one of the local scene's most entertaining live shows. 9pm. Madhappy Lounge, 850 NW Brooks St.

Anthony B

thursday 20

Hailing all the way from Jamaica, as many of the best and most authentic reggae acts tend to, Anthony B plays an energetic dance hall style of reggae that should play well with the dance-happy crowd that will surely fill the Domino Room. For those who aren't familiar with Anthony B, you very well may have heard his music at some point, given that the dude has appeared on some 1000 songs over the course of his 14-year career. $20/adv, $23/door. All ages. 9pm. Domino Room, 51 NW Greenwood Ave.
