We’d never heard of narco-soccer before researching this little film, but now we’re fascinated. The term refers to the shadowy connections between drugs and sports in Columbia in the early 1990s, when Pablo Escobar ruled the Columbian drug underworld and Andres Escobar (unrelated) ruled the soccer pitch, that is, until he was murdered. What better way to blow out your hangover on Sunday than by blasting through the Peterson Ridge trail system? Depending on your category, you'll race between 12 and 27 miles over this fast-rolling cross-country course. Afterwards, reward yourself with a pint from Three Creeks Brewing, which serves as the de facto finish line of this sufferfest. Register beforehand at obra.org and it'll only cost you $35. Happy Girls Half Marathon and 5k

Really, getting your girlfriends together for a fun run sounds pretty awesome. You could wear matching t-shirts, maybe dress in different shades of emerald and be Gang-Green. Get it, Gang-Green? Whatever your sense of humor, if you like to run this course through Bend’s westside will probably make you happy. Plus it’s a benefit for the Kids Center. History Pub: Women’s Suffrage

Historical guru Kelly Cannon-Miller will lead this totally nerdy and super fun history pub celebrating the 100-year anniversary of women’s suffrage in Oregon. Remember all those days you spent cruising our local trails? Great time, right? Now's the time to show your appreciation and give back. Help keep those berms in place by lending a hand and assisting the Central Oregon Trail Alliance in their ongoing quest to keep our singletrack in tip-top shape. If you’ve got an extra $150 that you’re dying to drop, get your rich ass down to the Les Schwab Amphitheater for a weekend of big name acts and catch them just before/after their performances at Sasquatch. If you’re broke, like the rest of us, poach the music from a patio across the way or from the river.
On Friday, Blind Pilot, The Head and the Heart and The Shins transform the LSA into an indie rock haven. They might look like chess club nerds, but man do these guys rock. On Saturday, it's a mock-rock opera with Tenacious D and The Sights. You’ll want to be inside the venue for this one so you can check out Jack Black’s ridiculous shenanigans as he sings about his Kielbasa sausage doing cock pushups. Beck closes out the three-day set on Sunday with his hip-hop infused blues rock after an opening act by new-wavers, Metric. Last time Beck came through Bend he had a full puppet show replica of his band so we're expecting a kitschy and impressive performance again this year, complete with all the bells and whistles. Grab an inner tube, or load your pockets with joints and booze and buy a ticket—these shows aren’t to be missed.
