There are few pieces quite so haunting as “O Fortuna” of Carmina Burana. You know this epic song and you like it. KPOV Beatles Singalong

It’s KPOV’s seventh birthday! Help them celebrate by singing Beatles music at the top of your lungs. Boxcar Stringband, Broken Down Guitars, Gospel Choir of the Cascades, Noah Stroup, Subliminal and the Rock Hounds will all perform danceable, upbeat tunes from the lads from Liverpool. Raffles, a silent auction and trivia contests are also on deck. Tickets in advance are $10 for KPOV members, $12 for non-members, $5 for 18 and under, or just $15 at the door. Foot Zone Dirty Half

Arguably Bend’s most famous—or is it infamous?—trail run, this half marathon starts and finishes at the parking lot of the former Breedlove facility, now Two Old Hippies, on Skyliner. Beer awaits thirsty finishers at midday. The race attracts some 900 runners, the fastest of whom will compete for a $2,500 purse. Proceeds to benefit the Deschutes Land Trust. This year the Dirty Half kicks off more than a week’s worth of outdoors events under the Subaru Outdoor Games umbrella. Other highlights from the coming days include Pickin’ and Paddlin’ at Tumalo Creek on Wednesday and freeride clinics at Phil’s with Kirt and Lindsey Voreis on Thursday.
Farm to Table Freedom of Choice Gathering

There are two very cool things about this little pro-local food gathering. The first is the three-course meal showcasing local and artisan foods from Central Oregon. The second is that three nationally known presenters—Michael Schmidt, Mark McAfee and Pete Kennedy—will talk about the politics and struggle to secure a better food future. Blitz to the Barrel

Bend’s two-wheeled version of the Cannonball Run, this invite-only race pits a who’s who of local and national biking champions in an unsanctioned winner-takes-all style race for $20,000. Riders start at Tetherow golf course and crank like crazy to what promises to be another epic finish at 10 Barrel on Galveston. Women start at 5:30pm Men’s race at 7pm. Arrive early and secure your seat on the 10 Barrel patio for the photo finish.

Summer Sunday Concerts: Poor Moon

Draining Tumalo Creek/Surface Water Improvement Discussion

Local and regional water experts discuss the long-term impacts of the city’s water policy as it relates to wildlife and fish habitat on Tumalo Creek and the Middle Deschutes.
