When John March, the devoted father in Louisa May Alcott's Little Women, headed off for the Civil War, readers never heard of the horror of the killing, of the chores of cleaning up after battle. But as part of the Deschutes County Library's ongoing series Let's Talk About It: Making Sense of the American Civil War, participants follow March on his dark and soul searching journey through Geraldine Brooks' 2005 novel March and discover the depth of his pain and so many others like him for themselves. 3pm.
