The Sisters Folk Festival Winter Concert Series continues with this show featuring two brick-solid singer/songwriters. Kris Delmhorst has a poppy yet folky approach to her songwriting and couples storytelling lyrics with a silky voice to create smile-inducing tracks. Midwesterner Jerry Foucault co-headlines, combining blues and country to create a brand of Americana that tugs on your heartstrings. Polar Plunge Deschutes benefiting Special Olympics Oregon

Don't believe the hype...opthermia! Oh come on, now. We're just kidding. It's not that cold, it's just the Deschutes River. Jump or crawl on in and raise money for the Special Olympics. Telluride's Mountain Film - On Tour

In one of the most popular film events to roll through Bend each year, the Telluride Mountain Film tour brings a host of films about mountains, mountain sports and mountain people to the Tower screen to benefit the Central Oregon Environmental Center. Films on the slate this year are: Presence: 40 Days in Greenland, Monty Python: Climbing Oxbridge Road, Red Gold, Losing the Elephants and Fitzroy. Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo and Desert Brawl

Head up to Redmond (or stay in Redmond, if that's where you live) and check out the latest in sports equipment, apparel and fitness gear. The event is highlighted by Saturday night's Desert Brawl cage fights with the main event featuring local fighting guru JT "Outlaw" Taylor taking on Northwest welterweight champ Mike Pierce. There's also ten other fights to feast your eyes on! Desert Brawl: Saturday 8pm. Deschutes County Expo Center, 3800 SW Airport Way, Redmond. Free, $12 for fight.

Local fly-fishing legend Brian O'Keefe offers fly fishing fanatics a sneak preview of the upcoming issue of Catch Magazine, O'Keefe's groundbreaking online journal of international fly fishing photography and videography. O'Keefe is a legend among Oregon anglers for his fly fishing exploits and his ability to capture locations and seemingly once-in-a-lifetime moments of which most anglers only dream. His latest venture, which is available free online at www.catchmagazine.net, chronicles O'Keefe's travels and work from dozens of other fishing photographers. Free. Person People CD Release Party

We've been waiting for a while now, but Person People, Bend's own hip-hop super tribe, is using Saturday night's shindig to celebrate the release of heartbeats, the band's new album. Ruins of Ooah, Disco Organica

Local didgeridoo player Tyler Spencer has a new band, Ruins of Ooah, a band that promises to bring a set of tribal trance rock to the Silver Moon. Check out their absolutely sweet-as-hell band photo in the Clubs and Live Music Calendar. Disco Organica opens with a blend of trip-hop, jazz, funk, soul, blues, drum 'n' bass, and R&B. King Perkoff Band

Latino Film Fiesta

We thought we'd give you early word on this festival, which organizers say is a cinematic journey celebrating Latin American film, featuring four independent, award-winning films from across Latin America. The event is a fundraiser for the Latino Community Association. Check back next week for reviews of the films you'll see at the fest. Venues: Thursday - Redmond High School; Friday: COCC Hitchcock Auditorium, Saturday: Tower Theatre. $5.
