If you didn't pick up last week's paper, you missed our story about the growing fresh-hop craze among local brewers who went hop wild earlier this fall, picking hundreds of pounds of hops that flavored more than a dozen different seasonal brews. If you haven't had a chance to taste any of these concoctions, you should hurry because they won't be around much longer. For the lazy and the homebound, there is thankfully another option. Deschutes Brewery announced that it is releasing a limited run of its acclaimed Hop Trip, the granddaddy of Bend's fresh-hop beers. The brew is the first fresh-hop variety to be released locally in six-packs and should be hitting store shelves this week, according to the brewery. But don't delay, because these freshies won't last long. (EF)
