World Naked Bike Ride
There were 36 pedestrian and bicyclist deaths by cars in the Portland Metro area in 2012, a number that rose steadily every year alongside the national average (5469 in 2012). It's time to bring those numbers down. Lose the comfy chamois shorts, but keep the helmet for the annual World Naked Bike Ride in Portland, one of the largest in the world at that, with a convoy of flesh that stretches for many city blocks. The event celebrates the eco-friendly option of biking for transportation and also addresses the vulnerability of bicyclists on the road. Leaving from Colonel Summers Park.
