Bend Celebrates Veterans Day with Parade, Events and Freebies



Today is Veteran's Day, and there is a host of ways to honor the service of military veterans and enjoy some of that appreciation if you are a vet or active military service member yourself. 

EVENTS

Veterans Day Parade

Local groups march down Wall Street to honor veterans.
11 am-2 pm. Downtown Bend. Free.

Veterans Day Party
Featuring Notables Swing Band, vintage cartoons and newsreels, a picnic and more. Benefits Caring for Troops and Band of Brothers.
6:30 pm. Tower Theatre, 835 NW Wall St. $7. 

FREEBIES 
(Proof of military service may be required)

Free food:
Applebees, Chilis, California Pizza Kitchen, Denny's, Hooters, IHOP, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Reb Robin, Ruby Tuesday, Sizzler, Starbucks.

Free fun:
Chuck-E-Cheese (20 free tokens through No. 19), National Parks (free entry).

Don't forget, most banks, public schools (including COCC), Jefferson and Crook County libraries and the post office are closed today.
