This fall marks the third year that Bend Fire and the Deschutes County Rural Fire Protection District No. 2 have collected winter clothes during the Bend Fire Warm Clothing Drive. According to Dave Howe, battalion chief for Bend Fire, the community has donated over 1,000 pounds in warm gear including vests, mid layer gear, coats, hats, gloves, socks long underwear and scarves.
The clothes Bend Fire takes in goes to local organizations including Bethlehem Inn
, Central Oregon Veterans Outreach
and the children of Deschutes County through the Oregon Department of Human Services, Howe said.
Here are the five collection points:
Station 1 on NW Simpson Ave.
Station 2 in Tumalo, on 4th Street
Station 3 on Country Club Road in southeast Bend
Station 4 on Hamby Road, just north of Buckingham School
Station 5 on the far north end of NE Jamison Street, past the Deschutes County Sheriff's office.
