Nothing can match the 2017 Bite of Bend when it comes to fulfilling your food and drink fantasies. Time to indulge! After our rather wild winter, which seemed to somehow sneak into spring, it's officially summer. (We checked the calendar.) That means warm weather, lots of water sports and yes—some fine Downtown dining.
So, just what do we have waiting for you?
First off, over 40 Central Oregon food vendors are here, so you have tons of choices and lots of decisions to make. (Don't say we didn't warn you.) Remember to pace yourself. It's a long weekend! Barbecue, burritos, kettle corn, noodles, cheesesteak and tacos. Thai, Dominican, Mexican, Hawaiian, Italian and more.
We've got it all.
If you came looking for some high-end thrills, don't miss the Top Chef competition—where Central Oregon's finest battle to win over our expert judges. Are you beginning to get the picture? And we haven't even discussed dessert.
And keep this in mind: All vendors offer special "bites" for just two dollars each, so feel free to try as many as you can. We're not judging.
Plus, since we're in Bend, you must realize it's not all about the food. If you haven't already noticed, drinks are a bit of an art form in these parts. We've been known to dabble in some beer, wine and cocktails from time to time. Here at the Bite of Bend, we have some special events exclusively dedicated to such pleasures. There's the Beer Run, of course, (and the Little Hopper Root Beer Run, for kids), as well as a craft cocktail celebration known as the Mixology Showcase—complete with the always entertaining Bartender's Brawl.

Oh, and don't forget about all the music. It's live and it's free—from national touring acts, including outlaw country maverick Shooter Jennings and New Orleans Suspects, to nearly a dozen up-and-coming local bands like the sweet-sounding rockers Woebegone.
It all gets started Friday night with our mini Bite of the Bite preview, providing a tiny "taste" of things to come. An appetizer, if you will, just to get you in the mood for the weekend.
Want even more? Think of this next event as the post-game show. The Bite Week Series continues for four days afterwards, with chef dinners, demos, classes and cocktail experiences taught by some of Bend's top pros. Bite Week takes place at various locations around Bend. It's a celebration of Central Oregon's summer growing season and an extension of the Bite of Bend.
