Customer Service Firing at Sub Pop Records?

This has got to be a joke. Even so— it's pretty awesome.

Sub Pop Records— known for bands like Fleet Foxes and Blitzen Trapper, has a couple blog posts up about a customer service incident.

First, the label received a completely ridiculous letter from a Father John Misty fan about the album artwork and liner notes. That part seems true.

But then they posted the letter on their website along with a "customer service" response from one Derek Erdman. You must read that exchange titled "What's New in the Mail Bag" here.

The very next day, Sub Pop issued an apology for the Erdman response, posted a picture of him leaving the office with his desk packed up in a box and claimed it was not only his first day working at Sub Pop, but also his last. Oh yeah— and they also shared what they say are excerpts from Erdman's exit interview. Go ahead and read that post, titled "First Day/Last Day: A Customer Service Snafu," here.

I'm pretty skeptical about this whole thing being true— but still— it makes for good reading on a Wednesday morning.
