Third Street stalwart Jackalope Grill makes its official grand opening tonight with doors opening at 5. Chef owner Timothy Garling said the staff has had several days to get acquainted with the new location and is ready to throw open the doors to the general public. The restaurant—which serves a Northwest style menu that includes filet mignon and pork tenderloin, but also some departures such as Jager Schnitzel and other dishes with distinctly European influences—worked out many of the kinks in a soft opening on Wednesday and Thursday. (Garling said the restaurant ran out of some ingredients on Thursday and was not altogether prepared for the full house that arrived, but will be better prepared tonight for the official opening.) While the seating capacity is relatively on par with the old location, the new restaurant features a full bar with room for about 20 people.
The restaurant opens at 5 p.m. tonight with Garling featuring an Oregon ling cod as the special.
