More Big 'Cross Races for Bend

Bend lands another big cyclocross race - the two-day Deschutes Brewery Cup.

Score another one for Bend in the "we host more big, important and ultimately awesome bike races than your town" category.

The US Gran Prix of Cyclocross, a four-weekend, eight-race series — the premiere 'cross series in the states, announced Thursday that Bend will host the two-day series finale on Dec. 10 and 11. The Deschutes Brewery Cup will take place on a course similar to the one used for the national champs races over the last two years. Portland had previously hosted the series finale.

Here is the full press release.

The two-day race comes on the heels of news that Bend will also host a three-day Halloween 'cross extravaganza, complete with what may be the first ever Cyclocross Super D race (Fri, Oct. 28) followed by two days of costume Cross Crusade racing fun (Sat-Sun, Oct 28-29).
