Redmond Teen Stabbed at Playground

Three young men wearing bandanas and equipped with box cutters and brass knuckles allegedly attacked a group of young juveniles playing tag at Hope Playground in Redmond on Saturday. In what Redmond Police say was an unprovoked attack, a 15-year old boy suffered non-life threatening stab wounds after being wounded by a box-cutter reported to be used by 18-year-old Noah Huber. Another 16-year old male was allegedly assaulted with brass knuckles by 18-year-old Isiah Laack. Both men were arrested and lodged at Deschutes County Jail after a brief investigation. The 15-year old was transported to Redmond St. Charles Medical Center and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries after fleeing with his friends to a nearby McDonald’s where they called the police.

Lieutenant Jesse Petersen, wrote in a written press release that the attackers were caught after Redmond Police and the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office set up a perimeter of the playground and utilized a police canine unit to extensively search the area. Video surveillance helped identify the three suspects, including an additional 15-year old male juvenile from Bend.

In violation of parole, Laack was transported to Deschutes County Adult Jail where he was charged with Attempted Assault I, Assault II x 2, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing x 4, Disorderly Conduct II and a Parole/Probation Violation. Isiah Laack's bail for the above-listed crimes was set at $190,000. He is being held on a no-bail Parole/Probation Violation.

Huber was transported to the Deschutes County Adult Jail, where he was lodged for the following crimes: Attempted Assault I, Assault II, Assault III, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing x 4, Tampering with Evidence, Disorderly Conduct II, and a Parole/Probation Violation. Huber’s bail was set at $197,500 and he also is being held on a no-bail Parole/Probation Violation.

The 15-year-old male juvenile was arrested for Assault III, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Disorderly Conduct II.
