Few people, if any, have made more contributions to the conservation of Central and Eastern Oregon than Alice Elshoff of Bend. Elshoff organized a successful protest rally earlier this year against the armed occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge which she has helped protect since 1960. She co-founded the Friends of the Malheur Refuge as well as ONDA, the Oregon Natural Desert Association. The Source Weekly's Brian Jennings talked with Elshoff about her many accomplishments as a conservation hero to many.
