Winter Rules

The weather redeems itself this weekend.

This is your weekend perspective writer, Mr. Pumped McPositive. After a snow-tease early in the week, followed by days of rain, we're now getting some proper winter weather, which is awesome. Snow in the hills, snow in town—we win!

Reports say that Hoodoo is skiing well, is not crowded and is not as far away as you think (45min from house to parking lot, one which contains none of the kerfuffle you're likely to find at Bachelor).

Mt. B, however, has plenty of good snow and twice (three times?) the terrain. Sure, they're still struggling in the wake of the recent record-breaking snowfall (power outages, reduced lift operations, snow removal, and the inability to clear their parking lot continue to plague the butte) but today it was easy to get to the hill and park and the skiing was quite pleasant, despite the reported 60mph mid-mountain gusts.

After skiing both hills (Saturday, Sunday) it seems that the wind acts similarly at both resorts but proved to largely be a non-issue.

And remember, if heading to the backcountry, please practice good snow science and avalanche safety:
