May 2021 Election Results

The latest election returns see conservative school board candidates in Bend-La Pine trounced by a 2-1 margin

Results in the May 2021 Elections begin to trickle in shortly after the polls closed at 8pm May 18.


Perhaps the biggest takeaway from election night: Following the release of returns early Tuesday night, there was the defeat of four conservative candidates, who largely bucked tradition by not interviewing with local media and who espoused an anti-anti-racist agenda. Instead, voters favored other candidates—among them, two Bend school board candidates who are people of color.  In Sisters, voters approved a bond measure to build a new elementary school, while a bond for parks in La Pine was defeated.
