The Princess Bride

Some might say that is hyperbolic to call Rob Reiner's incredible tale of Westley and Buttercup one of the greatest films of all time. To them, I say NAY! This movie has it all: A heroic and mysterious man in black, a beautiful farm girl, a six-fingered man, a fire swamp, swordfights, Cliffs of Insanity, Rodents of Unusual Size, torture, a pit of despair, eels and Andre the Giant bonking people on the head. For grownups and kids alike, The Princess Bride is a dynamic, engaging film that just keeps giving. Adventure. Romance. Comedy. High drama. Chase scenes. Part of the Sunriver Twilight Cinema series.

Fri., Aug. 8, 8:30pm. SHARC, Sunriver.

Rio 2

Rio 2 follows everyone's favorite blue macaw and his family as they leave Rio de Janeiro on an adventure into the Amazon rainforest. Rio will have to go against the terrifying Scarlet Macaws as well as someone even scarier: His father-in-law! As colorful as it is textured with some wonderful voice work: Featuring the vocal Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid and the Whale), Anne Hathaway (Havoc), Leslie Mann (Virgin High), Jemaine Clement (Tongan Ninja), George Lopez (nothing worth mentioning), Jamie Foxx (Booty Call), Jake T. Austin (Hotel for Dogs), Tracy Morgan (How High), Rodrigo Santoro (O Trapalhão e a Luz Azul), will.i.am (Joan of Arcadia), Andy Garcia (Beverly Hills Chihuahua), Kristen Chenoweth (Sesame Street) and Bruno Mars (Honeymoon in Vegas). Yeah, that's right: will.i.am did an episode of Joan of Arcadia. I'm just as surprised as you are. Part of the Sunriver Twilight Cinema series.

Tue., Aug. 12, 8:30 pm. SHARC, Sunriver.
