Mt. Bachelor, known for being one of the hottest winter ski and snowboard destinations in Oregon, will soon be in the lodging business. Come summertime the mountain transforms from snow to dirt creating an adventure lover’s playground. Visitors can glide through the sky on the Northwest’s fastest zipline, enjoy views from a chairlift ride up to Pine Marten Lodge, take in a game of disc golf and hike or bike the 500+ miles of track and trails. Soon they’ll also be able to stay close to the summer fun. In April 2026, Mt. Bachelor announced that they will be adding accommodations to their offerings with the opening of Trailhead Lodge, a 79-room motel west of Bend in the old LOGE location.
While details are still being finalized, Mt. Bachelor Director of Marketing and Communications, Lauren Burke, says they intend to make the lodge a place for the whole family, saying “we are positioning Trailhead Lodge to be very family friendly with free rental bikes, outdoor play spaces, s’mores making, coloring books and more.” They also plan to provide après-ski services at the lodge and host special events like its popular passholder parties and summer concerts. The resort’s parent company, POWDR, had not been actively pursuing lodging, but Burke says, “It really was kind of right place, right time and there couldn’t be a property that is a better fit for that Mt. Bachelor brand.” With its proximity to outdoor recreation as well as to dining and shopping in town, Trailhead Lodge is positioned to be a convenient location all year round. The lodge is slated to open December 2026 and will accommodate both guests and seasonal employees.
