A young Bend resident is launching a new sparkling electrolyte beverage, developed and made in Central Oregon. Tanner Bowen, an outdoors enthusiast who spent his youth skiing, running, bike racing and playing soccer, has just launched SURV, featuring real fruit flavors and electrolytes. A few years ago, at age 19, Bowen opened a pizza food cart at Silver Moon Brewing — an endeavor that had him working long hours in hot conditions. Trying to quench his thirst led to trying lots of products that were too sweet, or that relied on stevia, a natural sweetener.

“I knew exactly what I wanted—a clean, stevia-free hydration drink with an effective electrolyte profile,” Bowen said in a press release. “I love Spindrift and wanted something with that same refreshing real-fruit flavor, but with the added benefits of electrolytes. I couldn’t find it, so I decided to make it.”

Bowen sought the help of a third-party lab to develop a drink, and he’s now ready to launch.

SURV currently comes in grapefruit flavor, with other flavors on the way. It’s made with real fruit juice, Himalayan salt, and natural flavors, without stevia or artificial sweeteners. Locals can order the product on the SURV website at drinksurv.com.
