After a long winter hibernation, the chairs and tables are again popping on downtown sidewalks and restaurants are dusting off their lunch specials in anticipation of spring and summer crowds.
One of the first to jump back into the game is 900 Wall, which revived its seasonal lunch menu this week. General Manager Mike Millette opened the doors for lunch on Thursday just in time for a sneak, if short-lived preview of the spring weather. While the ubiquitous sidewalk tables hadnโt yet taken their places under 900โs Wall Street windows, Millette assured that they would be arriving soon.
The newly minted lunch hour waitstaff was just getting up to speed on Thursday afternoon, but our group was greeted with attentive service. The new lunch menu which features a sampling of 900s standbys as well as variations of some of its Happy Hour with a little more than half a dozen sandwiches and four pizzas, as well as a mix of small plates and apps.
Millette wisely pointed our group in the direction of the Carengie Deli Pastrami, which comes garnished with a juicy red beet, it works, honest, and gruyere. The sandwich was one of the first items to disappear from our shared plate. The menu also features the 900 Wall Burger, a Portobello and prime rib sandwich. We settled on the wild shrimp sandwich, a happy hour variation, that comes served with avocado, chili paste and aioli, romaine and two slices of bacon for good measure.
Of course, you canโt go wrong with 900โs wood-fired pizza oven pies and we scarfed a rotisserie chicken pizza (more bacon, yum โ plus gorgonzola)
ย A big thanks to Mike and the crew at 900 for a sneak preview at the menu. Weโre looking forward to more lunches and summer-like weather on Wall street.

I’d love to see some write ups on some of the new restaurants here locally. It seems that this restaurant gets a lot of attention from The Source- makes me wonder if the writer is friendly with the owners. And for what it is worth…they were extremely rude to my husband and I when we ate there- we ended up leaving before they even brought us water and menus. They could work on their CS a bit more, I think.
Hello Buttonmaker,
I am sorry to hear that you felt our service was extremely rude. As a business person, I want to hear all feed back related to our restaurant, both good and bad. Please feel free to email me at info@900wall.com or call me at the restaurant to relate your experience. We are constantly trying to improve each day and our staff works very hard at this. We can’t get better without input from our guests. In terms of this write up by the Source about our lunch service, I am also sorry you feel we get to much attention. I personally don’t feel we get an over abundance of attention from the local media (of course this is a biased view and I do respect your opinion). I believe part of the attention stems from our location and our back story of local workers trying to stay in Bend and reopen a restaurant where we had lost our jobs because it had closed due to the economy. We are very proud of this, as I hope you are as a local. We want all of our friends in the business to succeed and get as much positive press as they can in these difficult times. Postivity and smiles will go a long way in Bend’s continued push to recover from the past few years. With that I can highly recommend the dining experience locals and tourists can get at Zydeco, Joolz, Blacksmith, 5 Fusion, Bokken, Brother Jon’s, Arianna’s, Spandati and many more.
Thank you again for your input,
Mike Millette
