I really get tired of all the conspiracy theories about the Twin Towers and how some of our government officials somehow blew up the buildings. When I learned about the construction technique used, I wondered how they passed New York city building codes. Then I found out that government buildings don’t need to meet city building codes. So some egotistical building architect decided that his building should be completely open with no interior walls. So they used floor trusses. These thing will not support much weight. You have seen in the news where big box store roofs fail when the roof drains get plugged or have a heavy snow load. These trusses are made of tubing with plywood for the floor. When the planes hit the buildings, the load from the plane and the water from the sprinkler system were too much for the trusses to hold. Once one failed, it just compounded the problem. The more weight (that dropped) each floor the faster the whole building collapsed.

Anyone that has worked in the fire service (I did for 25 years with the Bend Fire Dept.) and anyone that has worked in construction (I did for 35 years) knows about these type of trusses and understands how dangerous they can be.

  1. Every one should go on line and view the construction of the twin towers if you would really like to know the truth. The steel box columns were incredibly thick and very strong. We now know how and why they failed: nanothermite. This high tech explosive doesn’t need wiring since it can be painted on in a sol-gel form. If kerosene fires melted steel, there wouldn’t be jet engines in the first place.

  2. So, BB–

Are you suggesting that the nanothermite was painted on the beams during construction in the 1960’s-70’s? Talk about long range planning.

The so-called expert who ‘discovered nanothermite’ now claims that hundreds of tons of conventional explosives were used in conjunction with the hundreds of tons of ‘nanothermite.’ His published study about the nanothermite was couched with qualifiers–the chips were ‘similar’ and ‘appeared to be’, etc.

Your knowledge of the effects of heat on metal and the effects of stress on heated metal is limited–your comments demonstrate that. But you and your fellow truthers will cling to the fringe ‘clear thinkers,’ ‘engineers,’ and ‘scientists’ who grasp at straws, no matter how nonsensical, and use them to prop up your theory.

Your explanation is another that requires even more complex conspiracies and an airtight conspiracy where no one ever comes forward.

A firm, heart-felt conviction never got Jim Garrison anywhere in face of the facts. It won’t do anything for you either.

I recommend, for starters, http://www.tms.org/pubs/journals/JOM/0112/Eagar/Eagar-0112.html. It was a professional article that attempted to explain what happened before the conspiracies came out and engineering flaws were suspected. Wild speculation since then and shoddy science by the non-scientific and outright lies and misrepresentation have created the ‘Truther’ industry. People believe there are aliens at Area 51, too.

  3. View the Clean Break document and the Project for a New American Century’s Rebuilding America’s defenses. The first talks of creating a new Middle East. The second plans for a cataclysmic and catylizing event like a New Pearl Harbor. The defenders of official story may sway the “blind faithers” but they have a bigger challenge with scientific proof. Please explain the molten metal and the nanothermite found in the residue.

  4. Heh. Heh, heh. Heh. Ha. Haaaahhh… BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHahahahaha… yikes! rattle, crash bang ROTFLMAO Ow! that hurt… can not stop HAHAHAHAHAHahahahaha… oh mahn, thats good for the abs. I haven’t laughed that hard at something so ill-informed in at least a week. Snicker…

Take another sip of that Ambein, Prosaic, Viagra and crotch-shots on CNN/Faux News Kool-Aid boy, and go on home – ‘ya mamma’s callin you.

The leaser holders of the facility collected 4.5 billion dollars in insurance.

  5. Wow. Larry worked 25 years for the fire department and 35 years in construction. 60 years of work. He must know everything about steel frame construction. Or could he be fibbing? Or maybe be senile? Or maybe Larry’s last name is Silvertein.

  6. All of you need to look at the bigger picture, the military industrial complex and its history.

See what has come this self inflicted wound or not.

The ecomomic benifits of many industries was directly related to this event.

And just think, not one thing has happened since, not because these companies are smart enough to prevent such events, if they were the ease at which it happened the first time is proof enough.

    It is not conspiracy theory
but facts proven over and over again.
