According to Portland State University’s newest population estimates, Central Oregon is once again one of the fastest growing regions in the state.

In the ‘90s, the city of Bend grew from population 32,569 in 1990 to 52,029 in 2000, more than doubling in size during the decade. That average growth rate was more than three times the state average. A study conducted by the city in 2005 estimated that by 2025, the UGB population would increase to 109,389.

Here are the most recent numbers from PSU’s study:

Oregon—+.9%=3.91 million

Deschutes County—+2,385 up 1.5%=162,525

Crook County—+40 up .2%
Jefferson County—+100 up .5%

Bend—+825 up 1%=78,280
Redmond—+245 up just under 1%=26,590
Sisters—+35 up 1.6%=2,115

Lapine—±0 still at 1,670
Metolius—±0 still at 705
Culver—±0 still at 1,370

Madras— -5=6,255
