The Upper Deschutes Watershed Council would love to have you join us for our upcoming stewardship day. We are partnering with Wanderlust Tours to restore hundreds of native sedges to a wetland area along the Deschutes River. This is an incredible opportunity for you to join us and get your hands dirty and feet wet while helping protect and restore valuable habitat for native aquatic species.
The goal of this stewardship project is to aid in the restoration efforts at Ryan Meadow which is located just upriver from Dillon Falls. We will be planting 200 native plants in the wetland area to improve habitat conditions for local wildlife. During our stewardship activities, we will learn about the UDWC and their mission, restore native sedges and remove non-native weeds, and to cap off the afternoon, we will celebrate with a well-earned refreshment!
