The Race Director for the Tour of Meissner, originally scheduled for January 18, 2026, has issued a hold on the event due to the current lack of groomable snow on the course. The event has been rescheduled for March 1, 2026, pending snow conditions.
While recent weather systems brought optimism, snow coverage across the Meissner Nordic trail network remains insufficient to safely and equitably host the event as planned. Organizers are closely monitoring conditions and forecasted weather patterns, but the most recent storm did not deliver enough snow to sustain the trails through the upcoming high-pressure system.
โWe came very close to making the January event work,โ said Event Director Ben Husaby. โHowever, the overriding goal of the Tour of Meissner is to bring skiers together and showcase all that Meissner has to offer in a safe, equitable, and festive environmentโand at this point, we simply canโt deliver that experience next week.โ
Event organizers remain hopeful that more favorable conditions later this winter will allow the Tour of Meissner to move forward on March 1, 2026, pending conditions. The Meissner Nordic Event Page has been updated, and the Webscorer registration pageย has been updated to reflect the revised schedule: https://www.webscorer.com/members/myracedetails?raceid=411353
โThank you sincerely for your understanding, patience, and continued support,โ Husaby added. โIโll be back in touch in the coming weeks with next steps.โ
