A professional performer with deep roots in one of Peter Pan’s most iconic
touring productions is returning to the role in a historic local event. Peter Pan the
Musical, presented by Thoroughly Modern Productions, will run February 21
through March 1 at the Tower Theatre, marking the first time professional theatrical
flight has ever been used at this historic venue.

The production stars Lindsey Burden, a longtime professional “triple threat” performer
and current drama teacher at Caldera High School, who is reprising the role of Peter
Pan. Burden previously toured with the legendary Mary Martin in Peter Pan, serving as
an understudy for the title role. While she most often appeared onstage as a Lost Boy,
Burden had the opportunity to step into the role of Peter Pan several times—an
experience she describes as unforgettable.

Now calling Bend, Oregon home, Burden is thrilled to return to the role that helped
shape her professional career. Her performance anchors a cast of young performers
participating in Thoroughly Modern Productions’ acclaimed Youth Intensive Program,
which trains emerging actors in professional-level acting, singing, and dance techniques
under the guidance of respected Bend-area directors.

Staging Peter Pan at the Tower Theatre presents unique challenges. The venue was
originally built without a fly system, a standard feature in most theaters. To make the
production possible, a specialized professional flying company will install custom
rigging and structural systems, allowing the cast to safely soar above the stage.
“This is truly a feat of engineering to make the show happen,” said Artistic Director
David Dacosta. “But we are thrilled to welcome Lindsey back to the role of Peter Pan
and see the cast soaring in this historic venue.”

In addition to high-flying theatrical moments, the production features immersive
audience participation, interactive elements throughout the performance, and a post-
show meet-and-greet with Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and Tinker Bell—creating a
magical experience for audiences of all ages.
