It’s been open since the spring, but this September, Bend Tea and Art Lounge, offering people a place to sip tea and make art, is finally “opening” in grand style. The space, known as TEAL for short, is hosting its grand-opening ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9am to 9pm — the six-month anniversary of the opening of the space. The event includes free kids’ activities, raffles, samples, the unveiling of the space’s new fall menu and live music starting at 7pm.
“What has surprised and delighted us most is how much our customers have shaped what TEAL has become,” owner Sarah Swoffer told the Source. “We started with the idea of a tea and art lounge, and it has grown into a place for so many different kinds of experiences: people meeting friends for tea, parents bringing their kids to create, women gathering, artists teaching workshops, book clubs, live music, community events, and people simply finding a cozy place to slow down for an hour.”
