I tend to get low-key snobby about my taco and burrito joints. Salsa bar with various salsas of proper heat? Yes. A cooler of Michoacana brand popsicles and Jarritos soda? Holler. A selection of traditional meats including carnitas, lengua and asada, at minimum? Thank you. If you thought you couldn’t get such an authentic selection of Mexican delights downtown, you’d be wrong. Let Super Burrito be your go-to during the work day or otherwise.
A dish to dream about: As a reformed vegetarian, you might assume that I, like others of my ilk, would crave the bacon breakfast burrito. That’s not a stretch. Bacon, beans, eggs… mmm… wait, what was I writing again? Oh yeah—bacon is good. No doubt. But the dream breakfast burrito for some of the staff at Super Burrito is actually the Hawaiian breakfast burrito, filled with ham and pineapple, as well as the eggs and beans you’d expect. Just try it. Whatever you order, expect a soft yet crispy tortilla, done just right. That’s harder than you think.
Price: $6. Still one of the most affordable Mexican spots in town.
