First Interstate has a refreshed Oregon leadership team designed to bring decisions closer to clients, simplify how they work together, and respond faster to local needs. The new approach aligns market leaders and empowered bankers across Oregon who know their communities and can act quickly in their best interest.

“Our purpose is simple — build strong teams that build strong client relationships,” said Chris Shepler, Chief Banking Officer. “When bankers are supported, clients feel understood, and communities move forward in a sustainable way.”

Introducing our Oregon Leadership Team

  • Chris DuBose, Oregon State President — As the senior leader for Oregon, Chris champions growth, innovation, and community engagement — partnering with local businesses and organizations, fostering high‑performing teams, and advancing economic development across the state.
  • Amaya Urzaa, Commercial Market President — Northwest Oregon & Southwest Washington — Amaya leads complex commercial efforts with a focus on outcomes that strengthen local economies. Recently, her team delivered an intricate construction financing solution that will create nearly 30 family‑wage jobs in a nearby rural community. She also serves as a board officer for El Programa Hispano Católico.
  • Lynae Williams, Commercial Market President — Southern Oregon & the Willamette Valley — Lynae develops strong, collaborative teams and client relationships, measuring success by trust, steady progress, and intentional growth. Her community leadership includes volunteer projects with the YMCA and support for youth arts through the Craterian’s Teen Musical Theater of Oregon program.
  • Eliescha Stone, Community Banking Market Leader — Bend — Eliescha partners with branch leaders and bankers to deliver tailored client solutions and consistent execution. Her service includes volunteer work at a local shelter, where she offers mock interviews and financial education classes.
  • Laura Sutton, Community Banking Market Leader — Southern Oregon — Laura guides branches to provide trusted financial guidance and personalized solutions, with a focus on client goals and team support. She serves on the board of the Family Nurturing Center.
  • CJ Steinbach, Community Banking Market Leader — Western Oregon — CJ creates an environment where clients feel understood and teams thrive, delivering consistent, reliable performance. His community service includes supporting FOOD for Lane County’s Dining Room.
  • Aaron Hoefling, Community Banking Sales Manager — Aaron supports Community Banking Market Leaders and branch teams across First Interstate’s footprint to deepen relationships and drive growth. He volunteers with ACCESS, serves on boards for the Craterian Theater and the Anna May Family Foundation, and supports United Way in Jackson County.
