Local nonprofit Partners In Care invites community members in Central Oregon to its engaging, in-person education series. For the past 17 years, Partners In Care has been providing no-cost community education on a myriad of topics such as preparing for end of life, facing a serious illness, and caregiver tips and resources.
The third community education class of 2025 is a continuation of the “Script Your Future” series which informs the community about important financial and legal considerations when planning for the future. This class is presented at no cost on June 18 from noon to 1:00 pm in the Wyatt Room at Partners In Care in Bend. Lunch will graciously be provided at no charge by Touchmark at Pilot Butte starting at 11:45 am.
In this class, community members will learn why estate planning is important, how to prepare for estate planning, and what to consider when working with an estate planning attorney. How long does it take to prepare an estate plan? What information will I need to provide? How can I avoid probate? These questions and more will be answered by our expert presenters. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their own questions!
Our presenters will be Suzanne McVicker, Esq. who has practiced estate planning and administration for over 20 years, focusing on trust administration and probate, preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, federal and Oregon estate tax returns, and federal gift tax returns. Suzanne is accompanied by Trent W Oki, CFP®, ChFC®, Certified Financial Planner and Financial Advisor with Edward Jones. Trent has served his clients in banking and financial services for over 12 years in Central Oregon.
“Partners In Care was excited to relaunch our revamped community education series in February of this year. Our first class, ‘Why You Need an Estate Plan,’ received overwhelmingly positive feedback and requests for continued instruction regarding this important topic. We’re grateful to our presenters for providing information that is critical to understanding and navigating financial and legal decisions,” said Simeon Rose, Partners In Care Community Relations Specialist.
Community Education classes will be offered quarterly. Future classes will be shared on the Partners In Care website at www.partnersbend.org/community-education/.
