Linsanity traces its unlikely roots to Bend, Ore.

The Wall Street Journal has a story this morning about Bend’s unlikely Linsanity connection. For those unfamiliar with Linsanity, you obviously haven’t been watching SportsCenter, or even listening to public radio, both of which have offered extensive coverage and commentary around the meteoric and unlikely rise of New York Knick’s point guard Jeremy Lin, an unheralded Harvard grad who broke a longstanding NBA rookie scoring record and has been virtually unstoppable as of late.

We've already set to work building a Lebowski cast of Miis for Friday night's tourney. But we'd like to see what you Wii owners can come up with, and we're prepared to offer up a bounty for the best Lebowski Mii.

If you’ve been paying attention to the Bent Blog then you’ve likely gotten wind of the Source’s Lebowski-inspired Wii Bowling Extravaganza on Friday night in WinterFest Bent Lounge. With that in mind, we’ve suspended all editorial projects in lieu of Lebowski costume preparations and Mii design.

City Club to Take on East-West Divide

This week the City Club of Bend will attempt to tackle the Eastside vs Westside divide in what should be an interesting and far reaching conversation, rife with geographic stereotypes.

It doesn’t take long for new arrivals to figure out that Bend is divided into two towns. It’s a story of have and have-nots, but also one of values— cross and road bikes versus motorcross bikes, if you will.

Pronghorn Sold To Hawaiian Group

Pronghorn, the Jack  Nicklaus and Tom Fazio anchored golf and housing development that kickstarted the destination resort boom in Central Oregon, announced that it has been sold to a Hawaii-based resort development and management company.
Like other resorts Pronghorn has been hard hit by the housing collapse and had been struggling to keep the five-star golf resort and development afloat.
