I would guess that there were at least a few Bent Blog readers down at the Bite of Bend on Saturday night to see the thunderously funky set from Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk.
The New Orleans band’s set struck me as one of the most impressive shows — especially free shows — I’ve seen in Bend in a long while.

Death Cab for Cutie, Jenny and Johnny Video Plus Decemberists Preview
Last night the summer concert season kicked off at the Les Schwab Amphitheater with music from Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes and Jenny and Johnny. Needless to say, the show was awesome.
Match Deschutes Brewery’s Labels With the Landmarks
I just came across this short film from Deschutes Brewery in which a couple travels through Central Oregon visiting the landmarks seen on the labels of Deschutes’ beers.
It’s a pretty interesting tour through our region and a bit of background behind the iconic labels on the brewery’s beer.
A Drive Through Bend in 1967
This video has been circulating over the past few days and it’s pretty remarkable. Originally shot on 8mm film, the short video takes us through town, showing off the startling changes the city has undergone in the past 44 years.
Cinco de Mayo Video from Last Night: Ozomatli, Rubblebucket, Haaby
How’s everyone feeling today? Judging from the explosion of revelry downtown last night for the Amalia’s street party featuring Ozomatli, Rubblebucket and Todd Haaby, I’m guessing there’s a few people moving a little slow.
But it was worth it, right? The party, which culminated with an insanely packed crowd freaking out to Ozomatli, was one of the craziest (and coolest) things I’ve seen during my time in Bend.
I May Have Seen a Baby Sasquatch
I’ve been debating whether or not to release the following video — wondering if it would forever alter the course of zoology as we know it — ever since I captured the images last weekend while enjoying the Record Store Day celebration behind Ranch Records.
But then I realized that this is almost certainly NOT a baby Sasquatch (I think it’s wearing Air Jordans) as I’d previously believed.
Video from Thursday Night’s G. Love Show
Dear guy in front of me at last night’s G. Love and Special Sauce/Belle Brigade show,
I’ve posted some videos on this site for you to check out because, as far as I can tell, you didn’t see much, if any, of the show at a sold-out Domino Room last night because you were texting throughout the whole show, only taking a break between songs to backpedal into me and shout either “Git er done!” or “Uh, winning!” toward the ceiling.
Video from the Weekend: ESO, Larry and His Flask, Mosley Wotta
When I left the house around noon on Saturday afternoon and looked up at the menacing gray clouds overhead, I said something like, “Ohhh boy, I hope it doesn’t rain?”
Anyway, it didn’t rain, which was good, because I saw outdoor live music featuring three of our region’s best acts, in April, in Bend, all freaking day. First, was Empty Space Orchestra’s Record Store Day performance down in the alley behind Ranch Records.
Video of The Mother Hips From Last Night
There were plenty of people out in downtown Bend last night for St. Patrick’s Day and it seems by 9 p.
