Viva Voce, Damien Jurado and Loch Lomond rock the PDXchange Program.

The PDXchange Program continues to bring an incredible string of Portland bands over to the Tower Theatre, as evidenced by last night’s show featuring Viva Voce, Damien Jurado and Loch Lomond.
Sadly, I missed Loch Lomond’s set due to, well, a college basketball obligation, but got there for all of Damien Jurado’s depressing yet brilliant folk songs.

Lyrics Born Video from WinterFest

Berkeley-based rapper Lyrics Born performs at the 2011 Bend WinterFest.

WinterFest sure was wintery, huh? Not only was the weekend a winter wonderland, due to plenty of snowfall, but the festival itself proved to be an excellent time for locals and visitors alike. Mike Bookey shot tons of video this weekend, which I plan on editing together into a mini-documentary this week.

Video From Last Night’s WinterFringe: Larry and His Flask and Mosley Wotta

Larry and His Flask, Mosley Wotta kick off Bend WinterFest in style.

A few hundred of us got an early jump on WinterFest at last night’s WinterFringe event, which began downtown before teleporting to the Century Center.
Downtown, there were brief sets from Mosley Wotta, who delivered a solo spoken-word set, and Larry and His Flask, who did a totally un-amplified run through of half a dozen or so songs.
