HOLIDAY TUNES—After spending the '90s crooning to clubbers in SF, singer-songwriter Storm Large moved to Portland to become a chef—and that's when she landed her big break with her new band, The Balls. MOUNTAIN PARTY—Spend New Year's Eve up at Hoodoo! Bring the whole family for a day of skiing and snowboarding—lifts will run from 9am to 9pm. LASER LIGHT SHOW

Looking for a place to dance the night away? Usher in the new year with two great bands! Electronica trio Yak Attack will be playing in McMenamins Theater, accompanied by a laser light show by Portland's Brett McConnell. Yak Attack incorporates house, breakbeat, downtempo, jazz and funk in tight compositions and improvisations that'll get you moving. Bend-based Broken Down Guitars will be rocking Father Luke's Room, delivering a blend of rock, soul, jam and Americana. WE GOT THE BEET—This eight-piece band from Eugene is making their way to Bend for New Year's Eve. The Sugar Beets have been a part of countless parties, bashes, rallies and send-offs since joining forces in 1990. Not adhering to a single genre, they incorporate genres ranging from bluegrass, Celtic and old time fiddle music to Motown and country.
