I was just cruising through the new summer concert listings on Jambase.com and found and interesting new addition to the Les Schwab Amphitheater schedule: Alison Krauss and Union Station are returning to Bend on July 9.

The band’s website confirms the date, which will be Krauss and company’s first appearance in Bend since playing on a blisteringly hot July day back in 2007. They played some excellent summery bluegrass, stopping frequently to let Krauss provide some of her adorable stage banter…prompting one jerk in the crowd to yell, “Less talking, more singing!”

While theย  been best known for her solo work and the tunes she recorded alongside Robert Plant for the Raising Sand album, it looks like Union Station is moving at full steam this summer, staying on the road from June through September.

The LSA hasn’t formally announced this show, so you’ll have to wait on ticket info.

  1. the less talking more playing guy is a jerk as you said, a careful and thoughtful ear would understand the stage talking of Allison is timed just so the musicians can tune/retune for the next song. All those acoustic instruments need careful tuning, and I would much rather lesson to Allison’s clever talking than twang’s of strings tuning! Stoked they are coming back to Bend!!
