Deschutes teams up with Lone Pine for a glass full of win

A downtown pub exclusive, Deschutes Brewery’s new collaboration with Lone Pine Coffee Roasters is a luxurious—and unfortunately limited—coffee stout, aptly named Brewers Alley Coffee Stout.
Local roasters Lone Pine have a unique style and taste that set them apart from other roasters. That uniqueness—a slight, but pleasing tartness and personality—is not necessarily evident in the final product, but the general coffee flavor is still intense and smooth; far richer than your common coffee stout.
After the initial, upfront coffee-bomb, the flavors and aromas give way to hazelnut, chocolate, and vanilla. The finish is long and lingering, tasting like fine coffee ice cream.
In a town saturated with imperial everything, the meager 25 IBUs will leave hop-heads wanting. There is some coffee bitterness, but it is mellow. The modest 5.7% alcohol keeps this beer approachable for any beer drinker.
Get down to the pub soon because this limited edition won’t last long. While you’re there, convince them to brew this again.
