If you've decided to stay inside rather than head out for the First Friday Artwalk tonight, here are some tunes for the snowy evening.

R&B sensation Aloe Blacc has a new EP out this year, following up his breakout sophomore album, 2010’s Good Things. The ultra-catchy song “The Man” off that EP does more than just kick off this week’s Friday Mixtape, it sets the tone for the other 14 tracks.

Blacc’s R&B anthem transitions into even more up-tempo tracks bookending a slow-jam interlude that features some of the genre’s most recognizable artists and a trip down memory lane.

From a brand new Ronald Isley song to memorable tracks from K-Ci & JoJo and 112, the nucleus of this playlist is sexy and deserving of a slow dance. But the rest of the mixtape is an expose of uplifting soul tracks that harness everything from techno to reggae to put finishing touches on silky smooth cuts.
