Hooligans or locals frustrated with Bend’s busy summer?
Deschutes County officials are trying to figure that out as a reported vandalism hit the summit of the popular outdoor recreation spot, the 500-foot-cinder-cone butte, on the east-side of Bend.
Bathrooms were targeted in the apparent vandalism as was the pavement of the summit where a giant “Get Out Of Our Town” was painted in all white, according to Pilot Butte State Park officials.
Officials state that the deliberate destruction to public property most likely occurred between the park’s closing last night and this morning.

Kudos to “The Source” for not showing pictures of the vandalism !! Better to not give the vandals any publicity for their desecration of public property. Very sad that some individuals don’t have better manners. Shame on them ๐
