Mt Bachelor. It's a record. 35 in 24.

Record 24-hour snowfall hits Mt. Bachelor.

Mt. B is reporting that Superstorm 2012™ that’s been walloping the Northwest for the last 36 hours has dropped a record 24-hour snowfall on the mountain with 35 inches as of this afternoon. Ironically, the epic storm also forced the mountain to cancel operations for the entire day because of severe winds, power outages and dangerous (read avalanche) snow conditions. However, we did get an eyewitness report from one of our far-flung Source correspondents who reported that he and his mates found chest-deep powder in spots while laying down backcountry lines near Bachelor on Thursday.

Bachelor says its crews worked throughout the day in hopes of getting lifts up and running by 9 a.m. tomorrow, but advises skiers and snowboarders to check the website or call the hotline before heading up. Here's a few pics that Bachelor has made available from the storm.
